How it works

A static GIF battle site with honest boundaries.

The interface is interactive, but it does not pretend to have a server-side community database. Here is exactly what the package does.

1

Original media loads locally

Eight GIFs and eight still posters live inside the site package. No social embed, tracking pixel, CDN, or third-party media request is required.

2

Votes use local storage

Clicking a winner increments a count in the current browser. The number is labeled “local wins” everywhere it appears and can be reset with one button.

3

The board sorts transparently

Local wins are the primary sort. The fixed editor score breaks ties and is shown beside each entry rather than hidden behind the ranking.

4

Motion has a global control

The pause button replaces animated GIF sources with still PNG posters. Reduced-motion preferences start the site in the paused state.

5

Pages remain useful without JavaScript

Articles, metadata, sitemap, RSS, contact information, and gallery descriptions remain available. JavaScript enhances votes, sorting, FAQ toggles, menu behavior, and motion control.

6

Static hosting serves clean URLs

Every route uses a directory with an index.html file. The ZIP can be extracted directly into a public web root with no database or build command.

Editorial scoring

An opinion with visible criteria.

Editor scores consider instant clarity, loop timing, caption support, replay value, and responsible context. They are not described as objective performance data or audience consensus.
